Vice President of Therapy Development - USA - Medical Device

About the Company:

We are currently representing a venture backed, well-funded medical device company specializing in the development of innovative solutions for structural heart diseases, with a focus on transcatheter mitral valve replacement. Pivotal trial expected to start in 2024. They are currently searching for a Head of Therapy development to lead clinical field operations, overseeing recruitment, training, and case execution.

Responsibilities:

1. Leadership of clinical field personnel, including Therapy Development Managers, Proctors and Clinical R&D engineers.

2. Drive Pivotal Trial recruitment globally, overseeing site identification, patient screening, and enrolment.

3. Provide technical expert opinion, ensuring training material preparation and delivery, and conducting clinical and technical training.

4. Coordinate case preparation logistics for support, including device shipments and tool availability.

5. Enhance overall clinical trial performance regionally and nationally.

6. Conduct regular meetings with clinical site staff to assess perceptions and receptivity.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biology, physical sciences, nursing, or related field.

Experience: 10+ years in clinical field of medical device industry, 5+ years managerial experience, transseptal experience essential.

Skills: Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, mitral terminology, and FDA guidelines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
