Senior Scientist, Flow Cytometry & Antibodies

 

Location: Maryland, USA

 

Position Overview:

 

We are partnering with a leading biotech company in Maryland to find an exceptional Senior Scientist to join their research and development team. This role is pivotal in advancing their projects related to flow cytometry and recombinant antibodies. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing FACS-related experiments, analyzing data, and driving both product development and research goals. Additionally, this position will involve supervising team members and collaborating across interdisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the development, planning, and execution of research and product development projects focused on flow cytometry and recombinant antibodies.
  • Design, optimize, and perform fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) experiments, ensuring high-quality and reproducible results.
  • Analyze experimental data to support product development and research goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including bioinformatics, molecular biology, and product development, to achieve milestones.
  • Supervise and mentor junior scientists and research associates, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in laboratory operations and data management.
  • Prepare technical reports, publications, and presentations to communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay current with advancements in flow cytometry, antibody engineering, and related technologies.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and propose new research directions and product innovations.

Qualifications:

 

  • Masters or PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience, including hands-on experience with flow cytometry (FACS) and recombinant antibody technologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, performing, and analyzing FACS experiments.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring research teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a track record of scientific publications.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Familiarity with GMP, GLP, and other relevant regulatory guidelines is a plus.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Expertise in recombinant antibody engineering, including cloning, expression, and characterization.
  • Proficiency with data analysis software for flow cytometry, such as FlowJo or FACSDiva.
