Field Application Scientist (FAS) – Southwest Germany

Location: Southwest Germany (Field-based)

A leading life sciences company is seeking a Field Application Scientist (FAS) to join their team, providing expert technical support for their cutting-edge proteomic technologies and instrumentation. This role is critical in ensuring customer success and satisfaction across Southwest Germany.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Offer expert consultation and technical assistance to customers for proteomic platforms and instrumentation.
  • Customer Training: Conduct comprehensive on-site and virtual training sessions to enhance customer proficiency with the company’s technologies.
  • Pre-sales Engagement: Partner with sales teams to provide technical demonstrations, presentations, and advice during the customer evaluation process.
  • Post-sales Support: Troubleshoot technical issues, resolve customer concerns, and maintain high levels of satisfaction.
  • Collaboration: Act as a technical liaison between customers, sales teams, and internal support teams to address client needs.
  • Product Feedback: Gather customer insights and provide feedback to contribute to the continuous improvement of products and services.
  • Travel: Travel across Southwest Germany (and occasionally other regions) to provide on-site support and attend relevant conferences or events.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Advanced degree (MSc or PhD preferred) in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Proteomics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with proteomics workflows, mass spectrometry, or similar technologies.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of proteomics technologies and related workflows.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering top-tier service.
  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken) is essential.

Other:

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively (~50-70% within the region).
