Account Manager/ Sales Representative – Field based/ M1 – Diagnostics
About the Company:
We are looking for an experienced sales professional from the medical device, life science or diagnostic industry to join the commercial team managing clients and bringing in business along the M1 corridor. The aim of this role is to deliver year-on-year sales and profit growth by achieving volume and profit objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the M1 corridor territory and ensure sales and profitability targets.
- Achieve sales targets within the assigned territory by cross selling and increasing the number of products sold to each customer and by expanding the customer base.
- Communicate market intelligence on customer needs and competitor activity.
- Produce accurate and reliable market information to assess profitability of new products.
- Collaboration with internals departments such as Marketing, R&D and Customer Services.
- Ensure data is recorded where necessary.
- Comply with procedures and processes.
- Develop, monitor and manage accounts.
- Networking with current and potential customers.
- Manage quotation opportunities.
- Manage invitations to tender.
- Attend exhibitions, forums, presentations, demonstrations and other events.
- Contributing to the sales team through internal networking and participation on events.
Requirements:
- Proven sales experience and success within the medical device, life science, diagnostics or other related industry.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt style according to audience.
- Excellent presentation and demonstration skills.
- Residing in territory – M1 corridor, ideally around Sheffield to Nottingham.
- Ability to travel and stay overnight when needed.
- Goal focussed.
- Self-motivated.
- Excellent organisation skills
- Team player.
- Current and valid UK driving license.
- Educated to degree level in a scientific discipline such as biology, microbiology, molecular biology, etc.
- Empathetic and objective approach to customer needs and problems.
- Experience selling into the NHS and a good understanding of the NHS supply chain.
- Good understanding of testing laboratories (ideally clinical)
- Good IT skills including Windows and MS packages.
- Experience writing formal documentation.
- Experience with tenders is advantageous.
